Materials/Stores Controller

We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to join our team at SG Glass, based in Eggborough. to assist the Procurement Business Partner and the wider Saint Gobain Glass UK procurement team in delivering the agreed priorities and targets. Leading the stock management and continuous improvement cycle for all stock parts, assisting the team to deliver a competitive advantage for SG Glass Eggborough through effective material management and managing internal stakeholder expectations across various critical topics.

Hours: 39 hours Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Management of the Engineering stores and other storage locations, ensuring competitive advantage is gained, critical parts are available, and stock discrepancies are minimized
• Provide procurement support for stock part/spot purchases in the scope of the store operation
• Project Management and leadership of store improvement projects working towards world-class standards.
• Participation in surrounding area improvement projects as required - Reduce stock losses, improved audit (WCM/5S) results, Improved stock management to help avoid interruption to production
• Key contact for Finance & Shared service - Contribution to the monthly and annual spend allocation, ensuring supplier payments are completed on time and internal cost allocation is assigned correctly

What we are looking for in a Materials Controller:

• College education (A-level or equivalent)
• Project Management, ability to lead and support small to medium-sized improvement projects. Specifically, World Class Manufacturing and 5S
• Experience in using SAP, Web Methods and other procurement systems.
• Management of the Engineering stores
• Identification and delivery of cost savings within the stock part portfolio at Eggborough
• Ability to converse at all levels with confidence and conviction.
• |Experience operating a counterbalance forklift truck would be beneficial
