Our client is a leading provider of dry ingredient solutions for the Food industry in the Irish market, specializing in Processed Meat, Bakery, Snack Food, Flexitarian, and Vegetarian products. The Role
The Technologist will contribute to new product and process development, creating sample products based on NPD briefs and enhancing internal efficiency. As a Project Leader, responsibilities include leading NPD responses to customer opportunities, addressing issues in flavor, yield, texture, and label declaration.
Responsibilities
- Own NPD processes for allocated projects, developing new products that meet customer needs.
- Complete projects in accordance with the NPD Stage Gate, including taste panels and shelf-life studies.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness in material sourcing for trials and kitchen samples.
- Seek solutions to minimize manufacturing complexity and actively grow customer relationships.
- Identify and implement material cost-saving initiatives, fostering flexibility in R&D.
Requirements
- Relevant Food Science qualification.
- 8-10 years in the Value Added Meat or Food Industry.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality and a history of flavor development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
