About the Trust
Alder Hey Children's Hospital cares for over 330,000 children, young people, and their families every year. As one of Europe's biggest and busiest children's hospitals, we treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions. In addition to our main hospital site, we offer paediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales, and the Isle of Man. We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park Building in North Liverpool.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Develop and maintain close links (as the Principal Treatment Centre for Children's Cancers) with Shared Care Centres and the Teenage and Young Adult MDT
- Maintain close links with CCLG and other identified research groups
- Be responsible for the management of the patient pathway ensuring that referrals are mapped, and information / data is recorded in a timely manner
- Be responsible for the completeness of data collection in line with National requirements and it's submission to the North West Cancer Intelligence Service (Registry)
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external colleagues to ensure that treatment plans are delivered in a smooth, timely and appropriate manner in line with patient need
- Liaise with the Lead Clinician, Oncology Unit Manager and other members of the MDT to ensure that patients are appropriately supported along their pathway
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
- Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous admin experience
- Previous NHS experience
- MDT experience (essential)
- NHS System Knowledge
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
