Mechanical & Electrical/Building Services Quantity Surveyor
Location – Nottingham NG9
Position Type: Full Time or Freelance (Outside of IR35)
Salary: £55K - £65K depending on experience plus a car allowance, pension etc
Summary
This is an opportunity to join a national M&E Contractor, initially as an MEP Quantity Surveyor with a fast track plan to move to a Commercial Manager’s role.
Responsibilities
Responsible for MEP Procurement and package costs.
You will need to ensure commercial & contractual control, compliance and coordination of the project. Applying the
value management techniques at the outset of a project.
Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, identifying and mitigating risks and enhancing opportunities.
Provide accurate reporting of costs, projections, contingency, liabilities, sales and margins.
Take responsibility for the cash flow forecasting, submission and receipt of payments.
Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan & variations.
Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
Being a key interface with client, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages and supporting to the Commercial Manager.
Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
Assist in any dispute resolution process.
What you need ideally
Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
JCT / NEC experience.
M&E experience.
Commercially astute with good negotiation skills.
Previous experience of M&E/Building Services projects.
Previous employment as a M&E QS, Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor, QS, Commercial Manager or similar.
