As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer be part of a commissioning team based at our Raynesway site and will carry out the Mechanical commissioning of new and existing modified test rigs across a number of our Derby sites.

What you will be doing:

You will support and maintain our expanding Submarine capability several test rigs will be used for system testing, performance testing and design-proving evaluation.

  • Be part of a commissioning team based at our Raynesway site and will carry out the Mechanical commissioning of new and existing modified test rigs across a number of our Derby sites.
  • The role will be both office based and hands on. It will involve the writing of the Mechanical Commissioning procedures, moving through the overseeing of the build phase through to the final inert and dynamic commissioning of the rig to hand over to the production team.
  • The role will also require direct liaison with sub-Contractors, Design team including managing any technical queries produced.

  • Testing Background and be a served engineer.
  • Writing of commissioning procedures
  • Experience on Industrial maintenance and Fault finding.
  • Experience of hot and pressurised water systems would be advantageous.
  • IT literate with an open and flexible attitude to work.
  • Have practical understanding of Manufacturing Operations.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
