Mechanical Engineer to design, prepare & complete documentation packages including drawings in 3D CAD & PDM for Power Transformers.
To deliver proactive support to the activities of the Transformer Engineering Department, in order to focus on delivery of the Engineering strategic goals.
To develop effective working relationship with customers, both internal and external at all times whilst representing the engineering team and company.
Main Responsibilities
Produce Mechanical Design of Transformer and Reactor for up to 132kV Transformers as per Scope of Work.
Prepare manufacturing and customer drawings under the direction of Team leader as per Scope of work. Such drawings might include but are not limited to: Tank & Cover, Yoke clamps, Transformer assembly, General assembly drawing.
Produce Bill of material and upload it on PDM system
Produce Tender GA and Tender documents
Check and approve supplier offer and drawing.
Ensure that all designs and applied technology are compliant with the relevant technical, safety and environmental standards, codes of practice etc.
Analysis of test results and feedback into database for future use and reference.
Working with the customer to achieve the required specifications
Develop best practice for Transformers designs and process within the organisation
Update and maintain the design software like Inventor and standing drawings.
Actively work on continues improvement of Transformer design and optimisation
Working with the customer to achieve the required specifications
The requirement to work cross functionally to develop best practice for Transformers designs
Understanding of engineering processes, Quality systems and awareness of HSE requirement
Produce Technical details for Mechanical Design for preparation of O&M Manual.
Produce Technical Datasheet, Compliance document Tendering department.
Produce required technical document to support sales.
Produce shipping list for Transformer and Reactors.
Support IT department to keep Sovelia and CAD system up to date.
Support Projects: Check and review scope of work are technically correct before it is being released on the system.
Support Quality on supplier development and inspection.
Support Purchasing department and assign Planner code to parts and create list of parts to help purchasing department to order items based on material type with a controlled document.
Person SpecificationQualifications
Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical.
Skills
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk vault is must
Experience in PDM system is preferable
Knowledge
Mechanical Design of Power Transformer and Reactor for 132kV and 150MVA
Experience
Must have 5 years of Transformer Mechanical design experience in OEM
