Responsibilities:
- Leading on technical solutions for complex Mechanical Design challenges.
- Conducting detailed design and stress analysis of pressure vessels and structures, overseeing and implementing engineering design changes.
- Preparing comprehensive technical documentation in compliance with design codes and pressure equipment regulations.
- Delivering mechanical engineering system design solutions, while reviewing and approving engineering drawings and specifications.
- Collaborating with relevant classification 3rd parties to strategise and secure design approvals.
- Providing supervision to Design Engineers and actively participating in design reviews.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to meet requirements.
Skills and Experience Required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role:
- Proficiency in Pressure Vessel design utilizing PD5500, ASME VIII, and EN 13445 standards.
- Experience in both design by analysis and design by rule methods.
- Competence in utilizing ANSYS Workbench for pressure vessel analysis.
- Familiarity with MathCAD, Finglow, and Solidworks.
- Knowledge of Class Society Rules pertaining to Diving, Ship’s, and Lifting Appliances.
- Experience in a Pressure Vessel engineering role.
- Experience with PLM systems for generating and storing engineering packages.
