Duration: 6 - 12 Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Salary: £40 - £45 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in gas turbine technology to join our team based in Cramlington, UK. This role offers the flexibility of being office-based, with the possibility of hybrid working arrangements. The position is available on a contractual basis, outside of IR35, and can be engaged through either PAYE or as a Ltd company contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components for gas turbines.
Conduct detailed analysis and simulation of gas turbine performance and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Mechanical Designs with electrical, control, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals.
Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions for mechanical issues in gas turbines.
Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of gas turbines.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to communicate technical information and project status.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative engineering solutions.
 

Further Responsibilities:
Expertise in Gas Turbine Auxiliary Equipment such as air intake systems, cabin systems, and exhaust systems.
Conduct conditional surveys of auxiliary equipment on client sites.
Compile comprehensive reports detailing the condition of auxiliary equipment, to be presented to clients.

Develop specifications and design auxiliary equipment in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on gas turbines and auxiliary equipment.
Strong understanding of gas turbine operation, design principles, and performance analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
Previous experience in a similar role within the UK is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel to client sites for conducting surveys and assessments.
