Mechanical Design Engineer

Introduction

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks. This position is based in Southampton, at our client's office although there may be an opportunity for some hybrid working.

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in using SolidWorks
• BTEC Level 3 or equivalent qualification

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain new 2D drawings and 3D models
• Work closely with engineers in the R&D lab for a hands-on and rapid response approach
• Contribute to assembly projects involving plastic molding, PCBs, and metal work

Job Details

• Contract duration: 2-4 weeks initially, with a possible extension
• Work schedule: 4 and a half days in the office per week (37.5 hours)
• Inside IR35
