Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to continued growth my client is on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. They are a leading manufacturer and solutions provider within the water treatment industry. Their ideal candidate will have experience producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD as well as development of a 3D library for their standard plant items.

Mechanical Design Engineer role:

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team.

Develop 3D library for standard plant items.

Liaising with clients on design details – quality control/validation of manufactured designs.

Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates.

Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic.

Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications.

Prepare & check bill of materials.

Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects.

Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs.

Mechanical Design Engineer requirement:

Educated with a relevant engineering discipline
Proven knowledge of SolidWorks, ideally accredited but not essential
A good understanding of 2D CAD packages - AutoCAD is desirable
Must have experience producing P&IDs or similar is essential
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Mechanical Design Engineer package:

Salary base of up to £40k
