Mechanical Design Engineer

We want to hear from candidates who have an interest in all things automotive, ideally having worked in a Mechanical Design role that involves vehicles, or have an understanding of vehicle systems. If you are into motorsport, great. You’ll be a team player who wants to work onsite because you know that collaboration is key to the successful completion of design projects. You’ll also be committed to developing your career with regards CPD, for example through IMechE.
Day to day you will be designing innovative Mechanical Designs, creating models and drawings using 3D CAD software, designing components and assemblies from concept to production standard. This will include products made from sheet metal, turned / machined parts, cast items, as well as small and large fabrications.
To be able to do the job, you’ll need a minimum of an HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or similar, and have 3D CAD design experience, ideally Solidworks (training provided for adaptation if the person is right). You’ll need to be able to perform hand calcs (stress analysis) and be able to design from scratch.
The company offer a compressed working week (08:00 – 17:15 Mon – Thu and 08:00 – 13:00 Fri), 25 days plus BH for annual leave increasing with service, Life insurance, plus a variety of other benefits available on request.
