Mechanical Design Leader
Location - West Midlands
Salary - £45,000 to £50,000

I am working with an internationally known company leading in industrial automation. They focus on joining, assembly and machining solutions for traditional and electric vehicles and robotised manufacturing systems.
They are on the hunt for Mechanical Design Leader to support with planning & resource management to direct and monitor tasks of others. Your responsibility will be to successfully implement technical solutions with time constraints and budgets. Also, you will be directing a team of engineering staff on project assignments.
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a degree in Engineering or Mechanical design. You will have experience ideally within the Manufacturing industry with a preference in Automotive. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Design tooling for the BIW automotive sector.
- Knowledge of CAE Programs including Catia, Solidwork and Vision Mockup
- Knowledge of FEA and stress analysis.
- Be able to manage and lead a design engineer.
Your day to day will include:
- To manage and monitor complex projects to ensure they are running to specification, on time and to budget.
- To promptly report probable and actual process changes to reduce the potential cost of manufacture.
- Is Responsible for the solution Design, volume, quality, Risk Assessment, PFMEA, Safety & CE Risk Assessment and MFMEA.
- Works with the Technical Leader to ensure cross functional communication is taking place when there's a "process change" that affects engineering and/or other departments.
Due to the nature of the role, there will be travel to client locations which could be international. Benefits also include pension & health cover.
