DoF provides the NICS and other public bodies with money, staff, professional services and business support systems, helping them to deliver excellent, value for money public services. The department is committed to deliver effective and efficient public services. DoF has approximately 3,500 permanent staff. The Departments overall aim is to help NICS departments make the most appropriate and effective use of resources and services for the benefit of the community. It does this by managing public money, supporting our people, transforming and innovating, providing evidence and insights and delivering public services. .

Have a relevant Access course with an overall mark of at least 41 (including passes in Mathematics and a Science subject);Or: have 56 UCAS Points obtained at a Level 3 (A Level or BTech) in at least one of the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering, Science or Technology (or equivalent)And: Five GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grades A, B or C which must include English and Mathematics. , In addition applicants should be aware that after an eligibility sift, should it be necessary to shortlist candidates to go forward to interview, the eligibility criteria will be enhanced and shortlisting applied in the following order:A minimum of Grade C at A Level in a relevant subject (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering, Science or Technology) or a merit in a relevant BTech or Access course.
