As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment on our quarry site located in a remote area of Scotland. This long-term contract role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the success of our ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical equipment within the quarry site.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any abnormalities or potential issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial setting, preferably in a quarry or mining environment.
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote and challenging environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
