Mechanical Fitter

Hastrec is currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join an engineering business based near Durkar, Wakefield. This is a permanent position and will require working in both a workshop environment and occasionally in the field on customer sites.

Training can be provided on company products and systems if required.

Role Responsibilities:

• Mechanical and hydraulic system assembly
• Fault finding and repair of mechanical and/or hydraulic systems
• Pipework and component selection
• Installation of equipment on external sites.
• Testing and commissioning
• General fabrication and some welding
• Using hand tools

Ideal Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Mechanical fitting experience or experience with hydraulics
• Experience working with industrial pipework would be ideal
• Mechanical assembly and test
• Ability to fault find and repair
• Hydraulics systems exposure would be beneficial
• Exposure to pneumatics, valves, pumps, cylinders, accumulators, power units and associated equipment
• Able to interpret engineering schematics/diagrams

The role requires someone to be commutable to Durkar, Wakefield as well as someone with flexibility to stay away on occasion. This is an excellent opportunity which can offer overtime, other salary uplifts as well as training and development.
