- Looking for Mechanical Fitters for testing area also.
- Will consider mechanics with rotating equipment experience.
- Permanent role
- Dayshift to start with salary of £31,287.65 (16.26/hr)
- Rate increase due shortly on all shifts
- 37 hour basic week
- early finish on a Friday 11.45am
- Mon-Thurs 7.45am-4.30pm, Fri 7.45am -11.45am
- Plenty overtime
- Time and half during week £24.39/hr and time and two thirds all weekend £27.10/hr
- Scope for shift work once up to speed - dayshift/nightshift
- Nightshift is time and a third £21.67/hr - £41,701.89
- or
- 12 hours shifts day/or nights - days £37,545.18 pa, nights - £43,802.71 pa
- 33 days holidays - buy 3 or sell 3 option
- Pension 6%
- Life Assurance - 3 times salary

Our prestigious client that are based in the South Side of Glasgow are looking for a number of Mechanical Fitters to join their large team within the manufacturing side of their business. This business is long standing and are servicing the needs of nuclear, Oil & Gas, Marine, desalination and waste water treatment plants all over the world.
These roles are in line with demand as they have several large projects which will ensure longevity in their business. These projects are due to start in June/July but the company would like people to bed-in before this, to ensure company procedures, policies and working practices and training are taken on board prior to what will become one of the company’s busiest times.

They are looking for:
- Time served Mechanical Fitters with 3 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing facility.
- Candidates that will have had experience in pumps.
- People who are able to realise the importance of lean manufacturing
- Be a team player
- Have strong communication skills
Duties:
- Working on a variety of assembly of new components
- Disassembly and repair/service in the aftermarket orders
- Inspection of own work
- Carry out all paperwork and checklists
- Assist in the test area
Hours of Work:
7.45am-4.30pm Mon - Thurs
7.45am-11.45am Fri
This is a dayshift role at the moment but there could be scope for this role to become nightshift which will attract a time and a third rate.
At the moment there is plenty of overtime available and this is time and half for overtime during the week and time and two thirds all weekend.
Generally, the staff work on one shift - either dayshift or nightshift but at the moment there could be scope for a mix of both if that suited your needs.
They also run 12-hour shifts which attract 20% uplift on days and 40% on nights. These are rotating days and backs but initially they will have you working dayshift.
Salary & Benefits
The basic salary is £31,287.65 pa on basic 37 hours week.
This salary will increase as there is a pay review being discussed right now.
33 days holidays, including statutory/bank holidays (Christmas/New Year/Easter/ etc)
There is also an option to buy and additional 3 days or sell 3 days back to the company
Pension contributions by the company will be at 6%
Life Assurance – 3 times basic salary
