Mechanical Fitter - Energy from Waste Plants
Location: Scotland Central Belt
Shift: Mon - Fri - Days
Mechanical Fitter Overview: Our client who operates multiple brand new state-of-the-art Energy from Waste (EfW) plants are revolutionising sustainable energy production. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of the plant's mechanical systems and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of clean energy technology and make a positive impact on the environment.
Mechanical Fitter Key Responsibilities:
1.
Installation and Assembly:
* Utilize technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to assemble and install mechanical components, including conveyors, boilers, turbines, and other machinery.
* Ensure precision and accuracy in alignment and fitting to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
2.
Maintenance and Repair:
* Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing operation of mechanical systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
* Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical failures, implementing corrective actions effectively.
* Execute repairs and replacements of components as necessary, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
3.
Quality Assurance:
* Conduct inspections and quality checks on installed equipment to verify compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in testing and commissioning activities, collaborating with engineers and technicians to validate system functionality.
4.
Safety and Compliance:
* Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues at all times.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
5.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, documenting work performed and any deviations from expected outcomes.
* Generate reports detailing equipment status, performance metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
Mechanical Fitter Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tools, equipment, and techniques used in assembly and maintenance.
* Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to mechanical work, including working at heights and confined spaces.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Certification or vocational training in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or a related field is desirable.
