My client who is based in Martock , an engineering company focusing on a number of sectors including aerospace and automotive and transportation, is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter with expertise in building Harvester machines, Jigs and Fixtures, and repairing and building mechanical components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural engineering and possess a mechanically minded approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install mechanical components for Harvester machines according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Fabricate Jigs and Fixtures to aid in the manufacturing process of the Harvester machines
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and develop solutions to improve machine efficiency
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Adhere to safety standards and protocols while working with heavy machinery and equipment
Requirements of Mechanical Fitter
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- Strong knowledge of Jigs and Fixtures design and fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Background in agricultural engineering or related field is highly preferred but not essential
Team worker
40 hours a week
Open from 7 am to 5.30, so flexible on start and OT available
OT available on Saturday and Sunday
£14- £16 PHR
