Role: Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Hours: 12 hour shift pattern covering days & nights 4 on 4 off 6am till 6pm / 6pm to 6am
Salary: £42,000 to £46,500 per annum + overtime paid at x1.5 & x2.0 + benefits
Location: Commutable from Worcester, Bridgnorth, Kidderminster, Ludlow, Redditch and surrounding areas

You must be willing to get your hands dirty in a heavy plant environment and not be averse to training and developing your skills. If you’re qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) either via an apprenticeship or college or similar, and have experience in any of the following, please apply; bearings, motors, pumps, gears, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (mig/arc). Ideally in some form of maintenance or fitting or servicing role gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
This is a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter position, working 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off rotation of days & nights.
Working in a team of Engineers, days are often more reactive, nights are often more proactive involving PPM’s, Continuous Improvement and Project Work.
Your role will include
Planned Preventative Maintenance across a range of equipment and machinery.
Dealing with machinery breakdowns and problems, so good fault finding, diagnostics and repair skills required.
Assisting with planned shut-downs and project work, refurbishing machines and replacing worn parts.
The production machinery is often large and heavy so you will be trained how to work safely on the plant to check, repair or replace belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. Those with mechanical skills within production/manufacturing environments would be highly desirable.
Requirements
Have completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications @ Level 3 or higher
Experience with Mechanical Maintenance, fitting or servicing work within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
Any experience of belts, chains, bearings - fitting & aligning, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, Arc / Mig welding and fabrication would be desirable - training and support can be given on some areas
Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatic and drive chain fault finding is highly beneficial
Some Electrical control systems experience is useful
Knowledge of cutting & grinding regulations
Ability to think outside the box and help with continuous improvements, offering long term solutions to problems
Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in and hands dirty in this heavy plant role
Friendly and adaptable working attitude, able to work well in a team
