Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Middlesbrough 

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum

Position Overview: As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and optimizing equipment performance to maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment according to maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and coordinate repair activities.
• Utilize technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance data.
• Provide technical support and training to junior maintenance staff as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Flexibility to work on a 3-shift pattern, including nights but no weekends, as required.
• Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or certifications preferred.
