Are you a mechanical engineer seeking a Monday to Friday role in a fast paced manufacturing environment?
This role as a mechanical engineer is predominantly Monday to Friday, eight-hour shifts working earlies, lates and nights on weekly rotations, leaving your weekends free when not benefitting from paid overtime on project work or weekend maintenance.
In the role of mechanical engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the production machinery runs efficiently, reacting to any breakdowns in a timely manner and using your mechanical engineering skills to fault find and repair the breakdowns in this fast paced environment. You will also be using your engineering skills to identify improvements and conduct preventative maintenance activities.
Working hours, salary, and future development.
- Monday to Friday, morning, afternoon, and night shifts – 8.25 hours
- Salary of £41,000
- Overtime for holiday cover, weekend maintenance etc

Experience Required:
- Ideally apprenticeship trained but must be Level 3 qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- High volume, high speed manufacturing experience
- Excellent team player, ability to react to breakdowns in a production environment.
Daily responsibilities:
- Maintain production line efficiency and reliability through adherence to maintenance schedules and breakdown rectification
- Provide technical expertise and support to operators and team leaders
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks
- Ensure Production targets are met whilst maintaining a high level of quality and minimising loss due to waste
- Analysing production data to improve line performance
- Working to standard working procedures and carrying out SMED exercises to reduce maintenance time.
- Support the team leader in managing the quality of production process, ensuring that quality procedures are adhered to.
