Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a reputable manufacturer of innovative hygiene products at their site based in Disley, Cheshire.

With over £145m in turnover last year, this is a company experiencing continuous growth and is known for nurturing talent and creating a warm and welcoming environment.

• £17.03 per hour
• Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm
• Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter?

• Ensuring that all Mechanical Maintenance activities for equipment comply with environmental and safety regulations
• Conducting a risk assessment or dynamic risk assessment for all tasks
• Following PTW and LOTO systems with due care and attention
• Performing regular mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on machinery and equipment
• Screening and acting on non-breakdown mechanical work requests
• Planning, scheduling, and efficiently executing ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities
• Collaborating with the spare parts department to ensure cost-controlled and efficient Mechanical Maintenance activities
• Continuously exploring innovative solutions to optimise the operation of production equipment and enhance Mechanical Maintenance efficiency
• Ensuring timely completion of Work Orders (WO’s) and Maintenance Requests (MR’s)
• Planning, scheduling, and executing agreed preventive maintenance tasks
• Performing or supervising building maintenance tasks when possible
• Performing or supervising mechanically based facility tasks when possible
• Collaborating flexibly with operating teams to achieve production KPIs
• Working as part of multi-disciplined team to meet factory targets

What do you need?

• Familiarity with laser alignment
• Centrifugal/mono/multistage pump fault finding experience
• Previous experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment
• A recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (desirable)
• HNC qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
