Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Westminster, London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £36,000 – £42,000 + monthly shift allowance of £566 depedendent upon skills and experience plus benefits package.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician this position is for a prestigious long term energy supply contract in London. This site involves the supply of heat and electricity to a range of consumers in London from two Energy Centres. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Whitehall boilers and electrical generation distribution equipment which consists of large scale HTHW boilers, 11kV electrical generating plant.

What will you deliver?

• A good understanding of the heating networks
• Maintain health and safety documentation and records to the highest standard
• Ensure PPMs and reactive jobs are closed promptly to allow for timely processing and reporting
• Have a basic understanding of the supply contracts
• Ability to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
• All activities are expected to be continuously improved over time

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience in the knowledge and management of package shell type boilers and systems and associated safety systems
• Require mechanical qualifications, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
• A good understanding of operations and maintenance, heating plant and distribution systems on a commercial / industrial level
• Must have previous experience in the knowledge and management of boiler systems and associated plant such as pumps, valves, air compressors etc
• Understanding of Legionella controls and water treatment
• Experience in Confined Spaces ideal but must be willing to be trained in this aspect
• Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
