Position: Mechanical Manufacturing Technician

Salary: up to £39,000 DOE

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

The opportunity:

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for assembling a variety of mechanical components, ranging from small fixtures to complex missile systems. You will need to understand and follow drawings and detailed planning instructions meticulously to complete and certify hardware builds.

  • Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a diverse range of tasks, ensuring adaptability and proficiency in various responsibilities.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools, and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle, ensuring comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in their use to support efficient production processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing build times are met, maintaining efficiency and adherence to production schedules.
  • Check and complete all necessary manufacturing data requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness to support the production process.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all procedures relevant to the manufacturing process, maintaining consistency and adherence to standards throughout.
  • Certify the product according to the established product certification procedure, ensuring it meets all required standards and specifications.
  • Maintain product certification and approval through regular audits to uphold compliance with relevant standards and regulations, ensuring ongoing quality and reliability.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a good housekeeping policy.
  • Communicate best practices to other team members to promote efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

What we're looking for:

  • Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 is essential for this role.
  • Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certificate is preferable.
  • Ideally have manual handling training.
  • Ideally lifting & slinging training (Including overhead cranes).
  • The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should also have proven planning and organising skills and be flexible and adaptable.

Due to the nature of our business, this particular vacancy requires the applicant as a minimum to be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship and capable of achieving the clearance levels mentioned above.
