Job TitleMechanical Piping EngineerEmployment TypeContract Estimated Duration- 11 months. This role has been deemed inside of IR35.LocationCumbriaThe OpportunityA thrilling new opportunity has arisen on the market to have the chance of working alongside a well-established engineering consultancy, specialising in the development of key nuclear projects, spanning across the UK and world. The need for you as a Mechanical Piping Engineer is to report to the ACM/ Piping installation manager to help support the overall implementation of the installation strategy for the designated project. This role will give you the opportunity to become responsible for the management of all materials, plants, and labour.

  • Are you an experienced engineer with a mechanical/piping background?
  • Do you have a knowledgeable understanding of BIM (Building information model)?
  • Would you be interested in working alongside a well-established engineering consultancy to provide your support to the development of key projects across the UK?

  • You will develop design concepts into scheme drawings and translate into general arrangement, sub-assembly, and detail drawings in accordance with British standard and client specifications.
  • Work alongside and support designer grade team members.
  • You will Liaise with other engineering disciplines.
  • You will prepare for and attend design reviews as and when is required.
  • Prepare for and attend HAZOPs as required.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • You will have previous engineering experience and a subject matter expert in the discipline of engineering discipline is required.
  • A valid CSCS card will be required.
  • You will need to be focussed and thorough with the appropriate skills to advise senior management when something needs immediate redress together with the tenacity and drive to ensure that necessary action is undertaken.
  • You will need previous management experience within the construction or relevant support services industries together with a strong understanding of technical issues and trends in the relevant sectors, including specialist markets.

It's great if you also have the following:

  • An understanding of BIM (Building information modelling) and how to read and assemble BIM models and produce appropriate reports from them would be advantageous.
