Senior Mechanical Project Engineer - Southern Water region
Minimum Qualifications
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma or equivalent.
- CSCS card or equivalent. and EUSR Card
- Full Driving licence.
- Evidence of safety training i.e. IOSH Managing Safely or CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme or equivalent.
Experience
- Experience on water/wastewater plant design construction and procurement

- HS&E knowledge & competence.

- Commercially aware.
Key Duties
Technical
- Management and review of Design outputs.
- Produce and update procurement schedule / plan
- Attend design and progress meetings.
- Review of 3rd party designs.
- Assist the QS in producing and defining the required scope of works
- Procurement of MEICA process plant
- Undertake technical and commercial bid analysis
- Programming and scheduling
- Review of inspection and test plans.
- Off site management of manufacturing phase of process plant orders
- Hold regular progress meetings and obtain manufacturing progress reports.
- Support the construction team and attend site as necessary
- Control of site electrical - mechanical installation activities.
- Set up and attend Factory acceptance tests
- Assist in planning.
- Produce / review risk assessment & method statements.
- Accept / issue instructions.
- Site reporting / record keeping.
- Ensure that site installation programme is adhered to or bettered.
- Maintain good working relationships with client, sub-contractors and partners.
- Ensure completion and take-over of sub-contracts.
Detailed Job Description
Input to procurement schedules, and interfaces procurement with the overall programme. Corresponds with sub-contractors to bring their offer into line with project requirements and compiles final documentation for order placement. Manages sub-contract packages, ensuring integration of design, conformance to specification and documentation is correct.
Management responsibility: supervisor. Key competencies typically include: advanced knowledge of mechanical & electrical services guides and standards related to assigned projects; advanced knowledge of design, procurement and documentation; intermediate knowledge of project management; strong communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, negotiation skills and financial focus;
