ROLE- Mechanical Project Engineer
LOCATION- Nuneaton
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £30,000 - £45,000, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Oil & Gas and Energy industries. They are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team in Nuneaton on a permanent basis.
Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineering background is necessary.
The Mechanical Project Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Ideally be degree qualified or have done an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 or more years’ experience in Project/Mechanical Engineering from working in a similar role or manufacturing environment
- Innovative and passionate with a can-do attitude
- Proficient with using MS Office
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Flexible to travel as part of the role as required
- Engaged, enthusiastic and proactive with a systematic approach to work
- Able to work well alone as well as in a team
The Mechanical Project Engineer role will involve:
- Agreeing project objectives
- Providing advice on the management of projects
- Scheduling, cost and quality control
- Design gas control systems from concept to manufacturing and create 3D models
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Carrying out risk assessments
- Planning and implementation to ensure timelines are met
- Being creative and open-minded
- Communicating with customers to meet specifications
- Being involved in purchasing for projects and chasing suppliers as and when required
- Preparing the required project related documentation & drawings
- Making sure that all the aims of the project are met
- Making sure the quality standards are met
- Using IT or other systems to keep track of people and progress
- Display a proactive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems
