Mechanical Project Manager

Parkinson Gray Associates have been engaged by our Client, a major shop fitting contractor, to assist them with their recruitment of a Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC - building services). Parkinson Gray Associates are acting as a recruiting agent for this role.
This is a major retail focussed contractor working with national retailers up and down the length and breadth of the Country. They are seeking to make this hire as part of a large expansion.
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will work alongside your electrical colleague to deliver MEP projects on behalf of their Client base - major national retail businesses. You will be profit and loss responsible for a portfolio of projects. Office-based but with frequent site visits, it will be your job to ensure the timely delivery of projects to demanding quality. Standards and, ultimately, to deliver profit on those projects.
Our Client is looking for an experienced building services professional. As Project Manager you will have three core responsibilities - 1) overall profit and loss responsibility for projects, 2) Client facing on behalf of the business, and, 3) technical oversight of the project; in essence, making the design a reality on-site. You will have a proven track record of delivery against these core principles.
We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of all things HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning). Ideally, you will also have experience in delivering retail projects. Retail contracting provides some unique challenges. Often projects are all over the Country, therefore travel is a necessity. They are often very fast-track schemes. Retail businesses want their floor space back as soon as possible for obvious reasons. These factors can make retail contracting a challenging fast-track environment in which to work, so ideally we would like Candidates who come from that market.
