Salford City Council are seeking a Mechanical Services Surveyor to join their Building & Facilities team. This role involves delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and repair provisions, as well as design and project delivery across a variety of mechanical building services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, carbon reduction technologies, and will be up to date with current Building Regulations and Health & Safety compliance.
Day to Day of the Role:- Deliver service, maintenance, and repair provisions to comply with statutory requirements and best practice.
- Directly contribute to ensuring the quality of service development activities.
- Provide technical support to colleagues and clients.
- Review specifications and service delivery systems to improve services.
- Inspect serviced equipment to ensure a high level of service by contractors.
- Attend contract monitoring meetings and liaise with Council Officers regarding work progress.
- Prepare early-stage design and feasibility work for projects.
- Undertake the role of Project Manager on projects, leading on all aspects of professional surveying work.
- Maintain service and test records, updating the City’s statutory compliance portal.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of current legislation, e.g., Health & Safety, CDM, Building Regulations.
- Full driving licence.
