SalaryWe have an amazing opportunity for a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our client's business as a Technical Operator. Your role as an operation line team member will be to resolve operational problems on the lines, carry out fault diagnosis, and first line repairs, as well as operating the machinery.
This vacancy would suit an Engineer with a Mechanical bias, other job titles that would be considered; Line Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Technician / Line Fitter / Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer / Dual Skilled Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical not essential).
Salary and hours of work:
- Salary is £46,000 - £54,000 depending on hours worked.
- The shift pattern is a 12-hour rotational shift rota (Days and Nights).
- 36 hour week or 42 hour week available (salary is higher with more hours).
The Role:
- Resolve operational problems on the lines, carry out fault diagnosis, and first line repairs, as well as operating the machinery.
- Organise line changeovers and running to ensure that all relevant departments and personnel are fully informed.
- Review daily achievement of targets and report variances.
- Complete relevant company documentation.
- Understand the equipment, processes, and key performance indicators.
- Carry out training, instruction, and competency assessment of others.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or Apprentice trained / time-served Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience in a FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing / production / factory environment is preferred.
- You will need to demonstrate you care about delivering high quality products at all times.
- You will have a good understanding of Good Manufacturing Principles.
- You will be able to demonstrate ownership, high levels of results focus and strong communication skills.
