As Mechanical Technician you will apply your comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a technical field to complete assignments. You will be responsible for carrying out the connection and assembly of a wide range of Anson equipment in accordance with relevant standards and delivery times. Guiding, Supporting & Working within a team you will pro-actively ensure customer and stakeholders’ demands are met according to changing production priorities. You will support, guide, lead and improve on-time assembling of the Anson product line, being a key player in completing manufacturing projects & order requirements that effect the Anson product line.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate designated machine safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained
- Complete schedules, sequences and assignments for assembly line activities
- Carry out work instructions as given by Cell Leader, e.g. work specifications, equipment operation
- Monitor and control materials, products or equipment to detect defects or faults
- Maintain assembly line performance standards, e.g. by monitoring gauges, dials and other indicators
- Check work via use of gauges, visuals and measuring tools
- Maintain an organised / visual workspace (5S understanding)
- Generate and implement improvement ideas and encourage idea generation among team members and stop work for safety, stop production for quality, and escalate concerns
- Be familiar with and use of proactive root cause problem solving (Fishbone etc.)
- Evaluate current production estimates and outputs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Time served apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant subject (essential
- Higher education in a relevant subject (desirable)
EXPERIENCE:
- Working knowledge within an assembly & manufacturing environment including the preparation of components (essential)
- Have a background in a mechanical based profession (desirable)
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential)
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools (essential)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (essential)
- Forklift and overhead crane certificates (desirable)
