Field Medical Affairs Manager
As part of the UK Medical Affairs team, this is a hybrid role with dual responsibility for Medical Affairs Manager (50%) activities for the existing portfolio and in-Field Medical (50%) activities for a new drug launch. The in-field activities have been allocated strategically target major therapy area aligned accounts in the London area. Longer term the % of time allocated to in-field activities will reduce as the role develops into a Medical Lead for the company.
This is the ideal role for an experienced MSL looking to take on a greater level of responsibility or for an existing Medical Advisor/Senior Medical Advisor seeking a well-balanced role. For this role, candidates must be final signatory eligible (training provided) if not already qualified.
Key Responsibilities:
50% Medical Affairs Manager:
- Devise and implement medical strategy for recently launched and marketed portfolio products
- Oversight of ongoing and major country led clinical studies
- Advise and support cross functional teams in Commercial ,Regulatory, Marketing, PV etc.
- Involvement in Market Access submissions as appropriate
- Matrix leadership and support to MSL team
- Review and approval of materials as an ABPI Final Signatory
50% Field Medical Lead:
- Map and engage with key centres in the London area
- Define and deliver a field Medical Plan in line with new drug launch strategy
- Organise and deliver advisory boards
- Implement and manage regional clinical trials
- Scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs
- Provide medical expertise to cross functional teams
- Maintain excellent product knowledge
The Candidate:
- Physician or Pharmacist with relevant UK registration
- Must have experience as an MSL, Medical Advisor or equivalent in the UK
- ABPI Final Signatory (or eligibility to become one) is essential
- Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining relationships with KOLs
- Experience in Market Access activities/NICE & SMC submissions
- Ability to effectively communicate and assimilate scientific and clinical data to the relevant audience
- Hold a full driving licence
