Medical Courier Driver

About us: We provide a courier service for the movement of blood, specimens and samples mainly in the West Sussex area for both NHS, non-NHS hospitals and hospices.

We cover both routine delivery of samples and also urgent/emergency blue light work.

We are looking to recruit additional drivers to join our team.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We have a variety of routes that operate 7 days a week. Our routine routes cover from 07:00-22:30 Monday to Sunday. We also provide Out of Hour retainer shifts to our clients.

Our service covers a 24x7x365 period so there will be requirements to be on call 2 evenings per week on a shift pattern basis.

Our shifts are split equally amongst our team members. Hours worked will vary 5 days out of 7 covering Monday to Sunday.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal requirements for the position in respect of educational qualifications nor is any medical experience is required, however you will be required to hold a full, manual driving licence.

In addition to this, to drive our fleet vehicles, you must:

• hold a full, manual, driving licence;
• have held said licence for a minimum of 1 year; and
• have no more than 6 penalty points on said licence.

We may provide support for staff who need to gain further licence classifications or emergency driving. Full Health and Safety training will be provided in respect of carrying blood and medical products.
