We are looking for dynamic individuals who have completed their Foundation Programme training or equivalent with NHS experience.
There are three posts available commencing 06 August 2024 for a duration of one year.
There will be an opportunity to complete a funded postgraduate qualification in Medical Education.
The posts offer an exciting opportunity for doctors interested in pursuing a career in General Internal Medicine. The successful candidates will work in Care of the Elderly/Geriatrics/Stroke medicine for one year as Junior Clinical Fellows.
Candidates will also be expected to participate in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota working day, night and weekend shifts as rostered.
Led by a team of Clinicians with educational qualifications the Medical Education Fellows facilitate the learning experience of students through tutorials, bed-side teaching and mentoring.
We expect our Medical Education Fellows to be passionate about teaching, and be supportive role-models for students at the beginning of their journey to become healthcare professionals. The post supports funding for educational qualifications and we want candidates to be aspirational in their outlook on learning.
Medical Education Fellows match 1 to 1.5 days of teaching and student support for the Undergraduate Department with 3.5 to 4 days of clinical activity in one of the teams based at the Ysbyty Gwynedd and associated units. They have representation on the Medical Education Board and contribute to two annual Digital Education Study Days.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get ahead with your e-portfolio and enhance your application to specialist training. At Ysbyty Gwynedd we offer each clinical fellow an educational supervisor to help guide you through your career and training requirements.
