Job description


You will be a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals and coroner and registration services.
You will be part of the Medical Examiner's office ensuring internal and external qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators are managed and achieved and work closely with the bereavement team, mortality team, coronal and registrar services to provide the best experience for bereaved families.
Medical Examiner Officer (Band 6)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Examiner Officer to join the Trust as part of the national implementation of the Medical Examiner system in England and Wales. The aim of this service is to be able to scrutinise deaths within acute hospitals and also the circumstances of all community deaths in the corresponding areas.
You will be a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals and coroner and registration services.
You will be part of the Medical Examiner's office ensuring internal and external qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators are managed and achieved and work closely with the bereavement team, mortality team, coronal and registrar services to provide the best experience for bereaved families. You will also act as an expert within the Trust for mortality processes and systems and ensure all staff are appropriately trained and supported to fulfil their responsibilities relating to the Medical Examiner and Learning from Death agenda.
