Hours: 34 hours per week Mon-Fri.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious and flexible person to join our friendly practice team at Crossgates Medical Practice.
Duties can vary on a day-to-day basis but the main duties include:
· Meeting and greeting patients at the reception desk, and checking them in for appointments as they arrive
· Scheduling appointments and updating the appointment system
· Answering telephone enquiries and signposting patients to the appropriate staff member / service
· Assisting with administrative tasks such as scanning and filing documents, opening mail, updating/maintaining databases etc
· Printing repeat prescriptions as appropriate
· Registering new patients on the computer system
· Ensuring medical records are kept up to date and updating when necessary
· Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policies/Procedures
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a health care, customer service or administrative role is essential
· A qualification in Business Administration or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential
· Knowledge of medical terminology is desired but not essential
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
· Proficient in using IT, with good keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office is essential
· Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
