Job description


The post holder is part of the Health Records Team and is responsible for finding and preparing notes for hospital patients. To ensure patients health records are maintained to the highest standard.
Provide effective input into work of the Trust, to support the achievement of our vision and Values.
Locate, retrieve and collate records from the library and storage areas for Outpatient Clinics and Inpatient Admission.
Use vital customer service and communication skills to ascertain further information from staff at all levels throughout the hospital. To assist the provision of those Medical Records more difficult to locate.
Respond immediately to ad-hoc requests for clinics and admissions and deliver Medical records as necessary.
Use computer tracking systems to locate records ensuring that records are provided in the agreed timescale to minimise clinical risk.
Utilise the hospital email system as a means of communication in procurement and provision of records.
Maintain the library and storage areas and keeping your working environment in a tidy and workable condition taking particular responsibility for the maintenance of the area.
Ensure all health records handled are kept in good condition, details updated, repairs made and labels provided and all loose filing is filed accurately.
Undertake destruction of documents following standard procedures.
Deliver and collect notes from all areas of the hospital on a daily basis.
Maintain the security of the department and ensure confidentiality at all times.

Adhere to department KPI's.
Participate in Trust appraisal system.
