Medical Scientific Liaison - Respiratory - NW England, N Wales & W Midlands

Our client is a privately-owned company which allows them the freedom to decide which research they invest in. They have medicines within Cardiovascular, Neonatal, Transplantation, Respiratory, and have an exciting speciality pipeline.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Science Liaison to join our clients Respiratory team. The role provides non-promotional medical and scientific support for the rare disease business, with the aim of providing high quality, accurate and timely scientific advice to healthcare professionals regarding the company's products and associated disease area(s).

MSLs contribute to the development and implementation of strategic planning for the UK by providing medical insight and applying expert knowledge about the product and/or disease area and by identifying, developing and maintaining credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic centres.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable relevant experience within a previous role in Rare Disease MSL, including proven ability to engage with KOLs and the ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) to achieve the objective(s).

The role functions a non-promotional capacity for 100% of the time and is field based.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A medical / pharmacy degree or PhD preferable
  • Demonstrable relevant experience within a previous MSL role, including proven ability to engage with KOLs
  • In-depth knowledge of ABPI Code of Practice, preferably with final signatory status
  • Good working knowledge of the clinical trial process, including the regulations pertaining to phase III/IV clinical study management and conduct
  • Good understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Good Pharmacovigilance Practice
  • Understanding of the wider NHS environment and key opportunities for pharma and the NHS to partner effectively within the scope of the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret and present complex clinical data in a clear manner to a variety of audiences
