Due to business growth, a thriving Medical Communications agency are now looking for a Medical Writer to join their team, either in one of their UK offices or in a remote capacity.

The role will involve creating high quality and accurate scientific content that meets and exceeds their clients’ requirements. There will also be an opportunity to liaise directly with clients and be involved in the project management of assigned accounts. The focus of this role will be an oncology publications account.

To be considered for this role you must live in the UK and have previous medical writing experience gained within a medcomms agency environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop outlines and drafts of materials (e.g. publications, slide decks, reports, training materials) according to the project brief, ensuring that all review comments are adequately incorporated and projects are delivered to deadline and budget
  • Liaise and effectively communicate with clients, external experts, suppliers (where required) and internal team members in the delivery of project work
  • Demonstrate understanding of and keep up-to-date with relevant therapy areas
  • Ensure all materials produced undergo internal review, QC, styling and copy-editing (where required), and final versions are approved by the required personnel
  • Support virtual / on-site client meetings activities (e.g. symposia, advisory boards, congresses, client–agency meetings), acting as key scientific point of contact for clients and external experts
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of key industry guidelines (e.g. Good Publication Practice 3, ABPI, PhRMA, CONSORT, client-specific) in project work
  • Contribute to internal brainstorms and the development of proposals for new business opportunities
  • Attend internal and client-led training sessions on an as-needed basis

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life science degree (preference: pharmacology/pharmacy, medicine, biomedical sciences) or ideally higher degree
  • Experience of writing a wide range of medical communications materials gained within a medical communications agency environment.
  • Excellent English language and grammatical skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Effective team work
