Sandwell Family Hubs

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to work across our Sandwell locality Family Hubs as a Meet and Greet Worker on a part time basis.

About the Service:

Family hubs are a place-based way of joining up locally in the planning and delivery of family services. They bring services together to improve access, improve the connections between families, professionals, services, and providers, and put relationships at the heart of family support. Family hubs offer support to families from conception to 19 or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with a great Start for Life offer at their core.

The service will provide a range of quality services for families, locally designed for the 6 town areas of the Borough, divided into 3 areas:

Cluster A - Oldbury, Smethwick

Cluster B - Tipton, Rowley Regis

Cluster C - Wednesbury and West Bromwich

Working Pattern: 22.5 hours a week (working pattern will be on a rota basis with the occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service)

Starting Salary: £21,028 per annum Full Time Equivalent (£12,787 pro rata) More information on our Pay & Reward Framework available below.

Essential Requirements:

  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle as flexibility is required to travel boroughwide as part of the role.
  • Strong Customer Service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong recording skills.
  • Confident in being able to speak to new people.

As our Meet & Greet Worker, you will be integral to the warm, welcoming environment to our Family Hubs, being the first point of contact for any visitor to our sites including outreach venues.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring each service user is warmly greeted and welcomed, either in person or by telephone.
  • Ensuring the needs of each service user is catered to in a professional, helpful and person-centred manner.
  • Ensuring that each family is registered with the Family Hub and signed in for health & safety purposes.
  • Escort visitors to rooms/sessions/clinics after signing in.
  • Sharing information about all elements of service offer and links to the wider Family Hub network.
  • Supporting families with connectivity to Family Hub network, supporting to make calls, send emails etc.
  • Supporting to ensure rooms are prepared for meetings/drop-ins/private spaces/clinics.
  • Ensuring PEEPs are in place and assessment of needs is sensitively undertaken.
  • Keeping resources and information shared up to date
  • Supporting with social media updates
  • Recording information, advice and guidance as part of Family Hub monitoring processes
  • Capturing Voice and Influence of parent/carers and children
  • Supporting recruitment to Parent/Carer Panels and Forums
  • To provide hand holding support where needed to support ease of access to services.
  • Work with the wider teams within Family Hubs to meet the needs of the service across the borough in a trauma-informed approach.
