MEICA Engineer - Mechanical

I am looking for an experienced MEICA Engineer - Mechanical to work in the East Birmingham area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.

Role: MEICA Engineer - Mechanical

Location: East Birmingham

Contract: Freelance

Rate: £400-420 per day (PAYE)

Duties will include:

• Designing of wastewater M&E assets (e.g. Pumping Stations, CSO's & associated civil structures etc…)
• Equipment sizing & selection (pumps, mixers, pipework etc…)
• TMA, NRSWA coordination.
• Early site investigation works coordination and procurement of materials.
• Record attendance and input onto internal systems and client design reviews.
• Oversee budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Preparing & managing project programmes.
• Managing sub-contractors programmes
• Developing and reviewing inspection Test Plans
• Coordinating site activities with clients
• Ensuring that all relevant health and safety documents are correctly recorded
• Supervising work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with method statements and work Instructions from the project manager
• Actively supporting the Site Manager to maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with Safety Policies
• Recording all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works
• Understanding of technical MEICA Mechanical works
• Control panels and control systems experience
• Supervising the installation of process packages and field pipework in an water process environment

Skills Required:

• Comprehensive knowledge of MEICA related statutory legislation, British and European standards.
• Knowledge/experience of managing contractors and putting NEC/MF1 contracts in place.
• Good knowledge/experience of H&S legislation and CDM 2015.
• Knowledge of the MEICA aspects of EA flood defence assets in Kent, East Sussex, London and Herts would be advantageous.
• Knowledge/experience of working on large EA flood defence schemes such as the Boston Barrier and having some knowledge of European Flood Defence systems would be beneficial
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office SharePoint (CAD experience would be beneficial)
• Knowledge/experience of Root Cause Analysis, Reliability engineering and process improvement would be desirable.
• An understanding of Asset Management and associated computerised maintenance management systems.
• Engineering related education. Educated to a minimum of HND, a Bachelor Masters degree, being advantageous, or equivalent with extensive relevant vocational experience.
• Technical Leadership.
• Writing and reviewing technical specifications.
