Job Purpose
To promote and sell membership to the business community in the wider North West Region
To actively provide high quality support in a range of customer facing areas including member recruitment & retention and member services.
To build relationships with Corporate Sponsors and other member organisations.
Key elements of this role will be to develop and sell promotional opportunities in the full range of our client’s publications and online channels.
Membership and Member services:
- generate and qualify leads
- source and develop member referrals by developing good relationships with existing members
- prepare sales action plans and strategies, schedule sales activity
- develop and maintain a customer database
- develop and maintain sales and promotional materials
- plan and conduct direct marketing activities
- make sales calls to new and existing members
- develop and make presentations of our clients products and services to current and potential members
- present completed Membership Application Forms and ensure efficient transfer of data to CRM, databases, website
- maintain sales activity records
- respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
- ensure customer service satisfaction and good Member Relationships
- follow up on sales activity
- perform quality checks on our clients product and service delivery
- monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
- conduct market research and surveys
- participate in Our clients events
- monitor competitors, market conditions and product development

Advertising on Our Clients publications and platforms:
· liaise with CEO, PR team and the Editor to confirm strategic themes for each issue of our clients magazine
· act as point of contact for Editor, raising any concerns with CEO
· source costings associated with each product and keep within proposed budget spend
· generate a portfolio of membership clients interested in advertising opportunities
· close the sale, source payment administering through Stripe platform and inform accounts re invoice generation
· maintain appropriate administrative records on our clients server
· source adverts in relevant formats for design and print
· liaise with member companies to confirm completed advert design before going to print

Other:
· Work closely with other team members to complement cross-team activities such as attending and supporting at our clients events
· Undertake other work as required, attending evening and other functions as appropriate
· Carry out other duties as reasonably be required by the CEO
Essential Experience and Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent IT skills and experience of MS Office suite
Knowledge of sales principles and practices
Knowledge of basic business principles
Extensive sales experience, preferably in a business-to-business setting
Excellent presentation skills
Proven ability to achieve sales targets
