A successful specialist school In Oxford is looking to take on another support staff member in a Mental Health Assistant position. The school is proud of their inclusive community and want to welcome a recent graduate to help support their own students with additional needs flourish in education. Joining the school's support staff as a Mental Health Assistant will include providing individual support to students facing social, emotional and Mental Health challenges throughout the school day. The students attending the school come from a range of backgrounds, each facing different challenges such as developmental trauma, abandonment or separation anxieties which means they require consistent and personalised support. As a Mental Health Assistant you will be working with these young children to help them process these emotions and feelings. The school have access to incredible links in the community and professional resources to ensure these students have the means to succeed in specialist education. While working as a Mental Health Assistant, the students will look to you for support and guidance when facing their individual dilemmas.
The Oxford school is looking for a candidate that is resilient, empathetic and optimistic. The successful Mental Health Assistant will receive full training and safeguarding qualifications alongside gaining a better understanding of children's mental development. The candidate should have some experience interacting with young children on either a professional level or at home on a family/friends level. A 2:1 in a relevant degree or other education would be beneficial but not mandatory.
