About the Roles
We have four brand new roles which are designed to support and advocate for people who are caring for someone with a Mental Health condition.
In these roles, the post holders will support carers on a one-to-one basis, as well as advocate for carers by providing training and support to groups of carers and partner organisations, including the Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust.
Mental HealthCarer Practice Team Manager
Starting salary: £32,470
The postholder will manage a team of 5 FTEs, all focused on supporting and advocating for those who are looking after people with Mental Health conditions.
Alongside your management role, the postholder will have their own responsibilities, working alongside colleagues within the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to embed carer friendly practice.
Mental HealthCarer Practice Partner
£28,385 to £29,714, dependent on experience
The postholder will work alongside colleagues within the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to embed carer friendly practice. This will be through training and engagement activities and providing bespoke advice and support.
Mental Health Carers Support Adviser – Families
£28,385 to £29,714, dependent on experience
The postholder will support and advocate for family members who are looking after people with Mental Health conditions. This includes young carers (aged under 18). As well as providing bespoke support to families, the postholder will engage with professionals and the wider community, raising awareness about specific caring challenges.
Mental Health Carers Support Adviser – Substance Abuse
£28,385 to £29,714, dependent on experience
The post holder will support and advocate for carers who are looking after people who have a history of substance misuse. As well as providing bespoke support to carers, the post holder will engage with professionals and the wider community, raising awareness about caring for someone with a history of substance abuse.
About you
We are looking for applicants who have experience working with and advocating for adults and families. You must have an awareness of Mental Health conditions and the challenges that carers face whilst supporting others with these conditions. You must have experience in forming good working relationships with professionals and service users and have effective practice in safeguarding adults and children at risk. If applying for the Mental HealthCarer Practice Partner role, you must also have a working understanding of the triangle of care and knowledge of continuing healthcare.
You will be a confident communicator, able to deliver information to groups of professionals or carers either face-to-face or over zoom. Finally, you will have good IT skills and be able to confidently record information about carers.
