About the Service - Recovery and Wellbeing Services

Our dedicated recovery and wellbeing services offer tailored support to help people facing stigma and perceptions associated with personal challenges . We understand that recovery from difficulties is a personal process, and we know that it is possible and achievable with the right bespoke support.

We work with people at every stage of their recovery journey. We offer effective, therapeutic and ongoing support. We support people to connect within their communities and with other services that can help with additional issues arising, including employment, housing, family relationships, Mental Health and addictions.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service offering practical and emotional support, to people who are accessing Mental Health provisions within the community. To be part of a confident and competent workforce. To promote positive mental wellbeing and reduce the stigma of Mental Health. Actively engaging and communicating with other practitioners within Changing Lives and external partnerships and/or stakeholders. Building effective growth and fostering relationships with those that use the service.

The role entails working across the Northumberland area, Offering emotional and practical support. To undertake therapeutic one-to-one sessions, community asset building and psychosocial interventions. Furthermore, coaching and advising people on their options so that they are able to stabilise their situation, this may involve accessing other appropriate services and support. Providing flexible and assertive engagement to people who are involved with the Community Treatment Teams (CTT) in Northumberland. Engaging individuals who are eligible, and where appropriate encourage people to engage into community assets, structured interventions, mutual aid, etc. With the outcome of improving wellbeing and resilience. Assisting people to identify their own recovery capital, using a strength-based approach.

Along with the person, develop activities relating to their recovery and community assets, including peer support services. Review and monitor people’s progress against agreed recovery plans. Determine the nature and extent of support that is appropriate to develop recovery capital for people accessing the service. Establish community focus and development approaches to ensure that all individuals accessing the service have effective sustainable support networks in place. Support the building and development of people's personal strengths, social networks and recovery, helping individuals access community assets that will reduce isolation and support recovery within their community.

Work to the performance standards provided and requested by Changing Lives and comply with all of Changing Lives Policies and Procedures. Support systems and structures that are responsive to the needs of individuals with different levels of risk, complexity, severity, and strengths. Provide a range of flexible and effective psychosocial interventions. Support ‘visible recovery’ within the service. Develop innovative and engaging ways of highlighting recovery across Northumberland, and working jointly with local partners through community settings.
