The training: Youll undertake a one-year training programme,spendonedaya weekstudyingat university, some time for private study and the remainder of the time(three to four days)working inor undertaking specific training tasks ina community Mental Healthservice. Youwillhaveregular meetingswith your supervisor to support you to deliver high quality, evidence-basedinterventions. What Grade Will I Be? As a trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, youll be paid on theAgenda for Change(AFC)pay system at Band 4. After qualifying, youll be paid at band 5. Youll need: excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to buildtrusting and productiverelationships with a range of people to be abletowork well within a multidisciplinary team a good understanding of Mental Health issues strong written and verbal communication skills, tailored to a variety of audiences the ability towork independently and use initiative to think quickly on the spot in often challenging situations creativity to solve problems and tackle obstacles effective time management for managing competing demandsin a busy and sometimes pressured work environment Entry requirements Youll need to be able to demonstrate a willingness to workin a hopeful and productive waywithadults with severe Mental Health problems.It is an advantage to have previous experience working in Mental Health and you will need to demonstrate your ability to study at degree level or above.Youcan train for a postgraduate orgraduatecertificate, depending onwhetheror notyou already have a degree qualification.
