Job description

Over the next 12 months, Homebase will be introducing several exciting, new ranges! Because of this, we are expanding a number of teams across our head office: including our commercial team who are seeking Merchandising Administrator/Assistant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. 

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday (8am - 4pm, OR 9am - 5pm) - flexible working arrangements, may be available, depending upon individual circumstances. 

Location: Milton Keynes, however, we operate a flexible policy which means that you decide what works best for you! If that means working from home, then work from home. If you prefer to work in an office then you're welcome to work from the office. For this particular role, we ask that you be available to visit our Milton Keynes, Store Support Centre for 2 days per week (Tuesday & Wednesday) - this may increase to 3/4 days per week for short periods in the run-up to our peak season.

Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 (depending upon experience) plus bonus earning potential. 

Homebase currently has an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Assistant/Administrator to join our team. This is a fast-paced and competitive position and you will be responsible for supporting the Merchandiser with the planning and delivery of the range. This role provides the opportunity to directly contribute to the success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing supplier forecasts
  • Flowing stock into DC in line with budget and fulfilling sales/demand at line level
  • Work with suppliers on delivery performance
  • Placing orders accurately at agreed cost levels within stock budget parameters
  • Working closely with the Merchandiser & Buying team to deliver the category KPIs (sales & margin, in-store availability, stock vs budget, DC availability)
  • Supporting the end-to-end stock flow
  • Updating and maintenance of the WSSI

About You:

  • Natural problem solver with an efficient and methodical approach to work.
  • Analytical and numerate with attention to detail and great Excel and Microsoft skills.
  • Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage fast-changing priorities
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines
