Metal Worker

METAL WORKER for an immediate Permanent opportunity based in Telford.

Working as part of a dedicated team to manufacture equipment from detailed engineering drawings. Shaping and re-shaping metals to fabricate, assemble and repair using manual and automated tools.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reporting to Manufacturing Manager you will be:
• Preparing metal components for machine assembly and investment casting systems
• Working to and understanding measurements on concise engineering drawings
• Set up and operation of fabricating machines which may include; Press brake, guillotine, punch, saw and drills.
• Utilising fabrication machinery to bend, cut, punch, saw and drill metal work.
• Materials handling, loading and unloading.
• Working towards production timescales and adhering to the company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Having previous experience working with tools and using the machinery detailed above.
• A sound knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Some Welding skills would be advantageous but not essential.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• FLT qualification / experience desirable
• Crane operator qualification / experience desirable
• NVQ qualification / Apprentice trained desirable.
• Not essential as training can be given
