Position: Metering Consultant

Location: Blackburn

Type: Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 Hours, Occasional working away from home and weekend work required.

Salary: £90000

We are currently seeking a Metering Consultant to join our global oil and gas business, based in Blackburn.

This is a Full Time, Permanent position working 37.5 hours per week with flexible start/ finish times and early finish on Fridays where enough hours have been completed earlier in the week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Execution of chargeable measurement consultancy work and supporting the comapny develop the metering solutions business.

Regular travel within UK and overseas as and when required

Responsibilities:

• Support the business to ensure effective metering/measurement technical expertise from FEED through to installation, start-up, commissioning, and operation throughout the full life cycle
• Expert knowledge of relevant flow measurement standards, regulatory guidelines, and industry codes of practice applicable to the worldwide business 
• Experience working with allocation systems and good working knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting and valuation methods
• Expert knowledge of design calculations, flowrate computations and flowrate uncertainty budgets

• Responsible for peer review, performing audits or compliance checks to a high level and provide appropriate assurance or mitigation measures to senior personnel

• Technical author for conceptual or detailed design specifications for new and upgradation of measurement systems, software upgrades, acceptance and witness test procedures, recertification test procedures, and maintenance procedures

• Support engineering team performance and make technically sound recommendations to engineering and project teams, as well as Group Management

• Able to drive continuous improvement throughout the engineering and project teams to meet and exceed customer expectations

• Support the business in establishing and growing the Metering Consultancy offering

• Support the wider business in identifying areas that Metering expertise can add value in different markets

• Technical author for flow measurement, sampling and allocation philosophies
• Develop, control and monitor the competence assessment scheme and ensure that all personnel are working towards professional recognition or accreditation where appropriate

• Able to represent the business at external forums, conferences and workshops, liaising with third parties on behalf of customers and dealing with commercial managers
