Microbiology Technician

Are you looking for a Lab Based role? Do you have an interest in Microbiology? Are you highly motivated and proactive?

A successful and expanding contract testing laboratory are seeking 2 Microbiology Technicians to join the team at their site in Hemel Hempstead. The company offer testing and analytical services to the food industry. This will initially be a temporary role with the possibility of going permanent.

(2 roles available: 1x 10:00-18:00 Tuesday - Saturday shift, 1x 10:00-18:00 Monday-Friday Shift)

Role Overview

• Prepare samples and reagents for laboratory testing
• Perform extractions and minor Analysis of samples as required
• Provide support in the Instrument room as required and under the supervision of Senior Staff.
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and well stocked of Lab consumables
• To ensure all work is conducted in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and UKAS 17025.

Requirements

• An interest in Microbiology and desire to work within a Laboratory.
• Excellent Communication Skills and Attention to Detail.
• Proactive and analytical approach to work.
• Education in a Scientific Discipline would be highly beneficial but is not a necessity.
• Some experience in a lab environment either from an academic or commercial/industrial setting would be highly beneficial.
• Must be available to begin immediately and currently based close to site in Hemel Hempstead.
